Yesterday, DC-based think tank NDN hosted “Politicsand Policy: What to Expect from the Immigration Debate,” a panel discussionbetween NDN president Simon Rosenberg, ImmigrationWorks president Tamar Jacoby,and executive director of the National Immigration Forum, Ali Noorani.
Thethree discussed the current debate on immigration and prospects for reformgoing into the fall legislative session.
Ms. Jacoby spoke of a new alliance being formed acrossbusiness sectors in favor of immigration reform. In past attempts at reform,each sector (agriculture, service, etc.) lobbied only for its own interests, butnow, largely through the efforts of ImmigrationWorks, these sectors are findingnew strength in a unified voice for change.
